True or False

Your blood is blue before it gets oxygen.

False! Your blood is always red, no matter how much oxygen it has. When blood has little oxygen, it's dark red, almost a reddish-brown. When it has lots of oxygen, it's bright and clear red. The veins we see through our skin can look bluish, but that's because of how light reflects through the skin, not because of the blood's color.
