Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 21, 2026
1. About this Privacy Policy
This privacy policy explains how Funquizo processes personal data when you use our website, create an account, create your own quizzes, or participate in multiplayer.
Funquizo strives to collect as little personal data as possible and does not use IP addresses, device IDs, or fingerprinting for its own user statistics. Optional cookies and similar technologies are used according to the choices you make in our cookie banner.
2. Data Controller
The data controller is JH Flatcube AB, organisation number 556751-3923, Åkervägen 12, 562 40 Taberg, Sweden. Email: info@funquizo.com.
3. Funquizo Accounts
When you create an account, we process data needed to administer the account and provide account functionalities. This includes email address, display name, primary use area (private, education, or business), account status, chosen language, creation date, and information regarding acceptance of terms of use, privacy policy, and age requirements.
Passwords are not stored in clear text but are protected by one-way hashing. The email address is stored encrypted and used in hashed form for exact account searching and duplicate checking.
4. Your Own Quizzes
When you use Funquizo's creator function, we store quiz titles, questions, answer options, marked correct answers, collections, quiz status, language, creation and modification dates, and counters for how many times the quiz has been started and completed.
User-created quizzes are not publicly published or made searchable on Funquizo. Other people can gain access to a quiz when you choose to use Funquizo's sharing or multiplayer functions.
5. Multiplayer
When your own quiz is used in multiplayer, Funquizo processes the information needed to conduct the game, such as participant names, answers, response time, scores, results, game code, information about the game session, and the version of the quiz used during the game.
Live sessions for your own quizzes, including participant names, answers, and session data, are deleted after 30 days. Permanent counters for, for example, number of starts and completed games do not contain participant names.
6. Moderation, Support, and Security
Funquizo's authorized administrators can, if necessary, access user-created quizzes and associated account information. This may occur, for example, to handle reports, investigate suspected abuse, enforce the terms of use, provide support, protect the Service, or fulfill legal obligations.
Funquizo may record administrative actions, such as a quiz being deactivated or an account being suspended, the time, the responsible administrator, and the reason for the action. Internal admin notes are not displayed to the user. User-created quizzes are not routinely reviewed before use.
Short-lived security data may be processed to limit abuse such as registration, login, verification mailings, and password reset.
7. Funquizo's Own Statistics
Funquizo uses minimized statistics to understand how the website and creator functions are used and to improve the Service. We may save daily summaries of registrations, created and saved quizzes, and game activity. Statistics can be compiled by language, account plan, and primary use area.
These statistics do not contain IP address, User-Agent, device ID, fingerprinting, or the content of user quizzes.
8. Cookies and Browser Storage
Funquizo uses cookies, LocalStorage, and SessionStorage. Necessary storage is used for functions you explicitly request. Functional storage and Google Analytics are only used according to your choices in the cookie banner.
Necessary Storage
- fq_account_session – session cookie for secure login and account session. It normally expires when the browser session ends.
- funquizo_consent – saves your choices for necessary, functional, and analytical storage, as well as consent version and time.
- funquizo_lang and funquizo_lang_suggest_dismissed – remembers language choice and whether a language suggestion has been dismissed.
- fq_live_code, fq_live_token, fq_live_is_host and fq_live_name – temporary SessionStorage for the multiplayer function you are using.
Functional Local Storage
If you approve functional storage, the following data may be stored locally in your browser:
- liked_questions – liked questions.
- liked_tf_questions – liked True or False questions.
- fq_true_false_votes – IDs for statements that the browser has already voted on.
- fq_riddle_voter_id and fq_true_false_voter_id – local identifiers that reduce duplicate voting.
- fq_recent_riddles – recently viewed riddles.
- funquizo_live_settings – optional multiplayer settings.
For True or False voting, the database only contains aggregated counts of True and False answers. No IP address is stored for the voting.
Google Analytics
Google Analytics is only activated if you approve analytical storage. The service is used to understand traffic and website usage. Google Analytics may process cookie identifiers, session data, approximate geographical information, as well as information about the browser, device, and usage.
- _ga – used to distinguish users and by default has a storage period of up to two years.
- _ga_G-0KDWCJKSEB – used to maintain session state and by default has a storage period of up to two years.
Funquizo sends the IP anonymization setting where applicable. Google may process data on servers outside the EU/EEA. Such transfer shall take place in accordance with applicable data protection rules and with necessary safeguards. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time via the cookie settings.
9. Why We Process Personal Data
Processing may be based on agreements when the data is needed for the account or a function you use, consent for Google Analytics and optional functional storage, legitimate interest for minimized product statistics, security, support, and moderation, as well as legal obligation when processing is required by law.
10. How Long Data is Stored
Account data and saved quizzes are normally stored as long as the account exists and the data is needed to provide the Service. Live sessions for your own quizzes are deleted after 30 days. Unverified accounts and expired one-time tokens are purged according to Funquizo's established retention rules.
When an account or content is deleted, limited data may need to be stored for an additional period if required for security, legal obligations, or legal claims. Statistics that can no longer be linked to an identifiable person may be stored longer.
11. Service Providers and Recipients
Yelles AB, which provides services under the Inleed brand, is used for hosting, technical operation, and delivery of automatic account emails. Google is used for Google Analytics when the user has given consent.
Providers may only process data for the purposes required for their services and according to applicable agreements and data protection rules. Funquizo does not sell users' personal data.
12. Security
Funquizo uses technical and organizational safeguards. Among other things, passwords are not stored in clear text, email addresses are stored encrypted, session cookies are protected with HttpOnly, and administrative functions are restricted to authorized administrators.
13. Your Rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may have the right to access your personal data, rectify inaccurate data, request erasure or restriction, object to certain processing, obtain certain data in a portable format, and withdraw consent.
For questions or to exercise your rights, contact info@funquizo.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (IMY).
14. Changes to the Privacy Policy
We may update the privacy policy when Funquizo or our processing of personal data changes. The latest version is always available on Funquizo. In the event of significant changes affecting registered users, we will inform them appropriately.
