True or False

Tennis balls have always been white.

False! While tennis balls were once white (or black), their color was changed to optic yellow by the International Tennis Federation (ITF) in 1972. This was done to make the balls more visible for television viewers, especially on color TV. White balls are still permitted, but yellow balls are standard at most professional tournaments.
